Hello and welcome to Mommy Coupon Swappers (MCS)! I am Michele, the page owner, and I am a stay-at-home-mom of 3 childrenL ages 17, 11 and 1. [<-- what?!] Yes, we had a bit of a surprise with the littlest one! I was not always a SAHM as I spent 20 years in Retail Management between Toys-R-Us, Sears, and Kohl’s. I was also a volunteer Instructor for the American Red Cross, teaching CPR & First Aid for appox 15 years. I have always been drawn to people and think that is one of the reasons for starting this endeavor. (That and seeing the opportunity to save from the retail perspective).I also hold an Associates Degree in HealthCare Administration (with a specialty of Billing/Coding) but the health care field was just not the right “helping” fit for me. Being behind a computer was not so bad, but the lack of interaction was. So I guess the inner me is innate to help others with determination!
I am originally from Michigan but now live in Wyoming, where the antelope DO play but our skies are cloudy sometimes (lol) And, where there are FEW places to actually shop locally so being savvy is VIP. Not only to help in reducing cost, but to eliminate the “shelf clearing” since there are others who want to shop here as well!
It is my goal to help provide you with the resources to do just that — be a savvy saver in ALL areas like — dare I say it — cooking, recycling, schooling, and just anything that life throws in our direction. Finally, it is going to be obvious that I am also a HUGE supporter of charities and like organizations, such as: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The Breast Cancer Foundation, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society …. just to name a few. This is partly because I have CML (Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia) and because I have several people who are dear to me that are affected by one or more of the above diseases. For this reason, I personally feel it is very important to talk about it, learn about it, and do something about it….again, being a savvy saver in regards to a life.
I also want to point out that I do not promote EXTREME couponing. Yes, getting items free is GREAT, but getting 100 of one particular item free is a bit much for me. There are a great deal of variances and debates on this subject but mine is firm: if you are gaining by taking from another, then is it really a savings? On that note, I thank you very much for stopping by the site, for following on Twitter, and for Liking on Facebook. (Pintrest and Google+ are almost ready to launch too)
